Torkos Csütörtök – Fat Thursday torkos csütörtök, fat thursday, discount food, half price restaurant

February 19,  will be the date for this year’s Fat Thursday event. On this day, the participating restaurants offer their menu with 50% discount. Please find the list of restaurants here.

It is a great possibility to try some decent restaurants  of your interest. Some restaurants may extend the discount for the following days. Reservation is needed!

February 19-22, Vajdahunyadvár

Budapest Fish Festival is a great opportunity to try out some dishes made of freshwater fish. Unlike in other countries, consuming fish is not common in Hungary (except Christmas time, when most families eat fish soup and/or fried fish). This event meant to encourage the consumption of fish. Besides the famous fish soup, you will find great Hungarian wines and pálinka. A folk show, kid’s program, cooking contest are also part of the program.
